SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium Selects Orion Health’s Rhapsody Integration Engine for Full-scale Application Integration and Monitoring

Orion Health, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the health care sector, announces that the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) of Juneau, Alaska, has selected the Rhapsody Integration Engine.

SEARHC is one of the oldest and largest Native-run health organizations in the nation, providing health care to 18 remote Alaska Native communities scattered over an area about the size of Florida. The consortium is in the middle of a major systems transformation project that combines all health and business functions into one comprehensive, computerized record system.

SEARHC will use the Rhapsody Integration Engine, to help the different electronic health record, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory and business programs communicate with each other. It also plans to extend connectivity to statewide systems such as VacTrAK (the State of Alaska immunization registry) and AKAIMS (an MIS and clinical documentation tool used by substance abuse treatment agencies).

“We looked at a number of different interface engines before selecting Rhapsody. Its user interface, flexibility and pricing were all features that appealed to our team members. The engine went into production within two months of onsite configuration and training,” said Peter Apathy, SEARHC Systems Transformation Project Manager.

“The Rhapsody Integration Engine is offering SEARHC the ability to access their legacy applications and enabling them to plan for the future of their technology development,” said Paul DeBazin, Rhapsody General Manager, Orion Health.

A Best in KLAS® solution, Rhapsody has been specifically designed to meet the present and future needs of health integration. The Rhapsody Integration Engine manages and streamlines message exchange between hospital applications, databases and external systems for effortless integration. Rhapsody delivers an integration solution with the lowest cost of ownership and highest return on investment.

“Rhapsody continues to outpace our competitors in the area of usability and customer service and SEARHC’s decision to purchase our software based upon these criteria demonstrates our continued improvements in those areas,” DeBazin said.
